INITIATIVES & PROJECTS
Vote YES to SPS is actively involved in a range of initiatives and projects aimed at fulfilling our commitment to enhancing safety, security, and education. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to implement programs that address safety measures, educational enhancements, and financial responsibility. We are focused on creating a positive impact on our students, staff, and community through these initiatives.
IMPROVE
SAFETY AND
SECURITY
Our commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment begins with secure entrances at both the Elementary and High School. We are to introduce storm-enhanced classroom additions at the Elementary School, complete with ADA-compliant bathroom upgrades. Additionally, we are enhancing the HVAC systems in both the original gym at the High School and the Elementary gym to ensure comfort and safety. Storm-enhanced rooms at the High School will further provide a secure learning atmosphere for all students.
EDUCATIONAL FACILITY ENHANCEMENTS
The upcoming renovations and additions to educational facilities are set to enhance the learning environment for our students. We are excited to announce a four-room science addition, along with renovations to the vocal music, life skills room and art rooms, which will provide state-of-the-art spaces for creativity and learning. Additionally, the Career and Education rooms will be updated to better equip our students for careers. The new Animal Science Building will support hands-on learning, while athletic upgrades at the high school, including improvements to the track, football/soccer field, bleachers, concession stand, and compliant restrooms, will enhance our sports programs. Furthermore, a new four to six-lane track at the middle school and upgrades to the Legion field at Plum Creek will benefit both students and the community.
MAINTAIN FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
We truly recognize the significant role that parents and guardians play in children's education and overall development. Our programs are thoughtfully designed to encourage facilitate active involvement from families, ensuring that they have opportunities to provide feedback and collaborate closely with our school. By working, we aim to cultivate a supportive and nurturing educational environment that not only benefits the children but also strengthens the bonds between families and the school community. Together, we can create a positive and enriching experience for every student.
The 2010 Middle School Bond will be retired in 2027 resulting in a new bond that would NOT increase the current tax rate.
